Royal sports couple Zara and Mike Tindall are headed to the VALO Adelaide 500 this week, adding to the glitz, glamour and excitement off-track.
Zara and Mike – members of the Royal Family and successful sportspeople in their own right – will jet into Adelaide this week and will also be taking the opportunity to soak up the sights and sounds of the city while here for a four-day stay.
Like thousands of South Australians, they’ll be taking in the action trackside, but the couple will also present trophies and, of course, will get to experience the thrill of the Supercars for themselves with a hot lap around the famed street circuit.
Zara Tindall MBE OLY said “Both motorsport and Australia are dear to my heart and inextricably linked actually.”
“I grew up going to F1 with Jackie and Helen Stewart, Helen is my godmother, so F1 was definitely in the family – and then, when I came to Australia for my gap year in 1999, I worked with SEL, a sports and talent management agency who were the driving force behind V8 Supercars.
“Coming back for the Adelaide 500 brings it full circle and I can’t wait to get amongst all the action – on and off the track.”
Mike Tindall MBE said “I’m really looking forward to being back in civilisation and right in the thick of the action at the Adelaide 500.
“As a sportsman, I’ll been keenly watching the intense rivalry on the track and, off track, want to get amongst the best South Australia has to offer.”
