Off the back of a hugely successful four days of wheel-to-wheel racing, the South Australian Motor Sport Board is excited to announce the support category line-up for the 2023 VALO Adelaide 500, 23-26 November.

 

In addition to the Repco Supercars Championship, Adelaide will welcome the Porsche Paynter Dixon Carrera Cup back for the first time since 2020, becoming the season finale for Australia’s premier one-make championship.

 

To compliment the Porsches, the Fanatec GT World Challenge Australia will return to the event. Grand Touring fans can expect a GT Village within the event precinct encompassing all things sportscars and high-end luxury.

 

After setting a blistering pace over the weekend and breaking the outright lap record at the Victoria Parklands Street Circuit, the S5000 Australian Drivers Championship will also return to Adelaide.

 

The S5000 series welcomed former F1 driver Giancarlo Fisichella as a wildcard entrant in 2022, with the Italian former F1 race-winner finishing in sixth position. Fans should stay tuned for more exciting wildcard entrants in 2023.

 

The series will also award the 2023 Australian Drivers Champion (Motorsport Australia Gold Star) at the 2023 VALO Adelaide 500.

 

The stars of tomorrow are also set to return to Adelaide in the Dunlop Super2 Series. The pathway to Supercars will test young talent on the tight street and act as a critical steppingstone in driver development. Any eye-catching SA talent to watch?

 

From future stars to legends of the sport, popular retro series the Gulf Western Oil Touring Car Masters will also return to Adelaide with Supercars legends John Bowe and Steve Johnson just some of the names to take to the grid once again in 2023.

 

The 2023 VALO Adelaide 500 returns to the streets of Adelaide from 23-26 November, 2023. General Admission tickets are on sale now, with ticket prices frozen at 2022 prices until 12.00 pm ACDT December 31 via Ticketek.

 

CEO of SA Motor Sport Board, Mark Warren said “We saw some incredible racing on the streets of Adelaide last week and we are already counting down the days until the next event.

 

The quality and intensity? of racing was on full display at this year’s VALO Adelaide 500, and we will once again offer a world-class motorsport line-up in 2023.
